Lorenz O. Gross was born Dec. 16, 1920 to Max G. and Frieda K. Ehm Gross. He died Dec. 23, 1944 and is buried in Fontanelle Cemetery, Fontanelle, IA.
Lt. Gross served his country in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps, 15th Air Force, 98th Bomb Group, 343rd Bomb Squadron. He died in Italy in an airplane crash.
