Obituary:
Bennett M. Granby, 59, died Saturday, May 30, at 11:00 p.m. in the Nave Hospital, Albert Lea, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 4, 1981 at 3:00 p.m. in the Bethesda Lutheran Church of Jewell. Pastor Jolivette will be officiating. Bonnerup and Sons Funeral Chapel of Albert Lea will be in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at the Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth.
Mr. Granby was born May 31, 1921 to Earl S. and Mable (Doolittle) Granby in Ellsworth, Iowa. He was educated in the South Hamilton area. On March 14, 1967, he married Arlene Lauer.
He was employed during his lifetime as a bridge construction supervisor. For the first 26 years of his life he lived in the Jewell-Ellsworth area prior moving to the Albert Lea area.
He is survived by his mother; wife; a stepson, Gene Allen Gulsvig of Forest City; a stepdaughter, Linda Lou Moore of Postville, Iowa; two grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Greiner of Jewell; and a brother, Earl Granby of Jewell.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Carrol; a stepsister, Janet Lee, and a sister Elsie White.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church and a veteran of World War II.
