Harley Lee Glassford was born Jan. 29, 1916 to John and Nora Lee Brown Glassford. He died Nov. 29, 1944 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France and has a cenotaph in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, IA.
Pvt. Glassford served in World War II with the U.S. Army 359th Infantry, 90th Infantry Division and was KIA in Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
