Erwin Carver Gillis was born May 15, 1920 to R. Henry and Nellie Tribby Gillis. He died May 20, 1945 and is buried in National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Sgt. Gillis served in Word War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 9th Bomb Group and was KIA over Tinian Island, Marianas Islands.
