Lieut. R. Gaskell Reported Missing

Mrs. Richard Gaskell, who resides with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Thirstrup, 1015 Irene Street, has been informed by the war department that her husband, Lieut. R. Gaskell, 27, a pilot, has been missing in action over France since March 27.

Lieut. Gaskell, a former resident of Lawrence, Mass, was on his first mission as pilot of a Flying Fortress named Happy Holiday. He had been in the air corps two years.

He had cabled his wife of his safe arrival in England March 13, and had written his last letter home March 26. Lieut. and Mrs. Gaskell were married in January. He was stationed at the SiouX City air base prior to going overseas. Mrs. Gaskell is the former Mary Thirstrup.
