SGT. GALLIART
Sgt. Melvin R. Galliart is well and is now serving with an army infantry unit of Leyte, according to a letter received by his grandmother, Mrs. A. Thomas, 330 Locust street, with whom he lived prior to his entrance in the service in 1941. This was the first message she had received from him in three months. Sgt. Galliart has also fought in the Alaskan islands and in the South Pacific. His father, George Galliart, lives in Dubuque.
