Robert Vern Fry was born Mar. 14, 1919 to Augustus Davis “Gus" and Goldie Mae Troup Fry. He died Mar. 10, 1943 and is buried in North Africa American Cemetery and Memorial, Tunis, Tunisia and has a cenotaph in Grant View Cemetery, Greeley, IA.
Pvt. Fry served in World War II with the U.S. Army 133rd Infantry, 34th Division and was MIA/KIA in Tunisia. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Honorable Service Lapel Button, WWII Victory Medal and European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
