Robert Owen Fitzsimmons was born May 14, 1925 to Harlan S. and Margaret Andrews Fitzsimmons. He died Aug. 26, 2000 and is buried in Lincoln Cemetery, Andrews, Iowa.
Robert served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and Korea. Flight Officer Fitzsimmons was a World War II POW in Stalag Luft 1, Barth, Germany. He served in the European Theatre in Germany.
