Russell Dwayne Fitchhorn was born July 14, 1915 to Samuel M. and Geneva E. Moore Fitchhorn. He died Dec. 2, 1992 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Russell served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

Russell D. Fitchhorn, 77, Webster City, died Dec. 2, 1992 at Hamilton County Public Hospital. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Reiff officiating. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery. Graveside military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 191. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today until time of service at the funeral home.

Russell Dwayne Fitchhorn, son of Samuel and Geneva (Moore) Fitchhorn, was born July 14, 1915 on a farm northeast of Williams.

He attended rural school and graduated from Williams High School in 1932. He then moved to Des Moines and was employed by a laundry. From 1941-45, he served with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific Theatre.

On Sept. 27, 1947, he married Maxine Yates at Webster City. The couple resided in Wester City He was employed at the Star Laundry for 10 years. He was then employed by Carnation for 17 years. He retired in 1972.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy and Doreen Fitchhorn and Larry and Paula Fitchhorn, all of Webster City; grandson, Cory Fitchhorn; step-granddaughters, Marta and Sarah Miller; step-mother, Thelma Fitchhorn of Williams; and sister, Georgia Spaulding of Concord, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dan.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 191 and the Webster City Moose Lodge.
