AIR MEDAL TO VIRGIL FISHER
Williams Navigator Also Is Promoted to 1st Lt. Rank.
Virgil L. Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fisher of Williams, has been awarded the air medal and has been advanced to the rank of first lieutenant, according to word received recently by his parents.
Lieutenant Fisher is serving as a navigator on a heavy bomber based in England.
The Williams airman entered the service in February, 1943, and has been overseas since July of this year.

Virgil Leslie Fisher was born May 31, 1923 to Clarence and Clara F. Ratzke Fisher. He died July 17, 2003 and is buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty, IA.
Lt. Fisher served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II as a navigator on planes over Germany.
