SERVICES TO BE THURSDAY

Bernard L. Fisher, 22, Died Sunday at St. Louis

Funeral services for Bernard LaVay Fisher, 22, will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Foster funeral home here, the Rev. W. R. Yard officiating. Burial in Graceland cemetery.

Fisher, MoMM 1-c, U. S. navy, died Sunday at St. Louis, following an accident which occurred while he was home on leave.

Son of Orley D. and Ethel Fisher, he was born Oct. 2 , 1923 in Webster City. When he was 11 years old the family moved to St. Louis and he completed his education there. Jan. 24, 1940 he enlisted in the navy and saw action in the invasion of north Africa, Sicily, Italy and southern France.

Preceding him in death was one brother, Orlando Keith, who died in the service Oct. 20, 1944 in the south Pacific. Surviving are his parents, two brothers, Neil Keith and Ronnie D. all of St. Louis; also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Fisher, former Webster City residents, now of St. Louis.

As a child, Bernard was baptized in the Baptist faith.

Bernard LaVay Fisher, Motor Machinist's Mate First Class, U.S. Navy - DNB

Bernard LaVay Fisher was born Oct. 2, 1923, to Orley Denzel and Ethel M. Sagar Fisher. He died Oct. 14, 1945, and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA beside his brother, Orlando Keith, who was killed in action just a year earlier.

Bernard saw action in the invasion of north Africa, Sicily, Italy and southern France. He died following an accident which occurred while he was home on leave.
