Hershel Lafe Finke was born Jan. 13, 1922 to Anton and Myrtle Fowler Finke. He died June 6, 1944 and is buried in Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
Pvt. Finke served in World War II with the U.S. Army 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division and was KIA on Omaha Beach, Normandy, France and awarded the Purple Heart.
