James Fassett, 88, of Webster City, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Private family services will be held at a later date.James Franklin Fassett, the son of Buster and Radie Mabel Arends Fassett, was born February 23, 1927 in Webster City. He graduated from Webster City High School and received his degree from Iowa State University in Forestry. James served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He married Charlotte Hoop in 1963. The couple later divorced. He raised mink north of Webster City.James is survived by his son, Tom Fassett of Webster City and sister, Dorothy Brim of Webster City.He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.James was a former member of the Moose Family Center and the Elks Lodge. He belonged to the Eagle Scouts and the American Legion Post #191.
