Priv. Philip C. Farrin

 


Private Philip C. Farrin, son of Mrs. Vincent Brown, 2317 S. Cornelia Street, had a long trip home on furlough. Private Farrin, shown in the picture with “a member of the family” Step, arrived here for a few days furlough from Fort Richardson, Alaska. Private Farrin is in the medical division of the army air corps. He enlisted in 1939. On the way home from Alaska, the soldier said, the ship on which he was a passenger sighted a submarine and “we fired on it.”

Phillip C. Farrin died July 22, 1984 and is buried in Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
