News About Men in Service From Over Northeast Iowa
New Hampton—Mrs. Robert Farnham has received the Purple Heart award from the War Department. It was awarded posthumously to her husband, Robert Farnham, technician fourth grade, who was killed in action in Italy, Feb. 7.

Robert William Farnham was born Apr. 22, 1918 to Charles Riley and Grace Osier Farnham. He died Feb. 7, 1944 and is buried in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly, IA.
Sgt. Farnham served in World War II with the U.S. Army 95th Evacuation Hospital and was KIA at the Anzio Beachhead.
