Roy Henry Fankhauser was born Sept. 11, 1913 to Ed and Lydia Bechtel Fankhauser. He died Aug. 18, 2004 and is buried in the New Hampton Cemetery, New Hampton, IA.
Sgt. Fankhauser served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
Married to Eleanor Heit, Parents of Larry, Jim and Paul. He grew up in New Hampton. When he and Eleanor married they moved to Blairsburg Iowa where they operated a DX Service Station until retirement.
To find gravesite; enter in far west gate on the north side of cemetery, go south, almost to the first left turn. It will be off to the right, the marker is flush with the ground. Located next to the Ed and Lydia Fankhauser upright markers.
