Maple Hill, Iowa—George Enderson, seaman second class, has just returned to his ship at San Francisco after an 18-day leave here. Enderson has been in two major battles in the Guadalcanal area and said that his unit assisted in sinking enemy submarines in the South Pacific.

George Olaf Enderson was born Nov. 4, 1915 to Ole and Mary Johnson Enderson. He died June 16, 1982 and is buried in East Side Cemetery, Estherville, IA.
