Erwin Joel Ekeland was born Feb. 25, 1925 to Hans and Karina Ekeland. He died Apr. 28, 2014 and is buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Co.
Lt. Ekeland served with the U.S. Army Air Forces in World War II. He was assigned to a B-29 and based at the North Field on Guam. He was awarded the Air Medal.
