Bristow - Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Duffield received a wire from their son, Lt. Douglas Duffield, who is a flying instructor at Goodfellow field, Texas, stating he is flying with a friend to Chanute Field, Ill. He will go from there to Gary, Ind., where he has relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Duffield will leave Friday evening to meet their son in Gary, Ind.

Douglas H. “Doug" Duffield was born July 7, 1922 to Harold R. and Grace Weiland Duffield. He died May 3, 1945 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Bristol, IA.
Lt. Duffield served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died in an aircraft crash while assigned as a flight instructor at Goodfellow Field, San Angelo, TX.
