Donald Charles Dewey was born Sept. 13, 1920 to Chester and Florence Dewey. He died Feb. 2, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England and has a cenotaph in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Sgt. Dewey served with the U.S. Army Air Corps 703rd Bomber Squadron, 445th Bomber Group, Heavy and was KIA over France and awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
