Melvin De Stigter Stationed In Japan
With the 8th Army in Tokyo
Private Melvin De Stigter of Sioux Center, Iowa is serving with the famed fighting 1st Cavalry Division, which is on occupation duty in the ten prefectures of the Tokyo-Yokohama area.
Overseas since January, 1947, De Stigter is serving with the 19th Transportation Truck Troop, 16th Cavalry Quartermaster Squadron, as a truck driver.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lane De Stigter, live in Sioux Center.
