Carl Wayne Davis was born Aug. 7, 1913 to Homer Franklin and Elsie Fern Graham Davis. He died Apr. 4, 2001 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Carl served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.

Obituary:

MARSHALLTOWN - Carl W. Davis, 87, of Marshalltown, formerly of Webster City, died April 4, 2001, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Services were held Saturday, April 7 at the Foster Funeral Home with burial in Graceland Cemetery, both in Webster City. Rev. Russell Surls officiated. Graveside military rites were conducted by American Legion Post No. 191, Webster City.

Carl was born Aug. 7, 1913, at Davis City to Homer and Elsie Graham Davis. He graduated from Davis City High School and attended Graceland College at Lamoni. He served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. On March 25, 1931, he married Dorothy Richardson at Davis City where they lived until moving to Webster City in 1950. He worked at Naden's as an electrician. The couple were divorced and in Dec.1967, he married Reckstra Ubben at Kamrar and they lived in Webster City. He retired from Naden's in 1983 and had lived the past 5 years at the Veteran's Home in Marshalltown. He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #191, both in Webster City.

He is survived by his wife, Reckstra; a daughter, Carla Nohrenberg and husband, Keith, of Iowa Falls; two sons, Ron and wife, Nancy, of Clarion and Jerry and wife, Marcia, of Boone; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Opal Roudybush of Plymouth; and a brother, Charles Davis of Council Bluffs. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Dawn Stotts.
