Howard Lyle Dahlke was born Dec. 23, 1914 to Frederick ‘Fred’ Wilmer and Nora Pearl Olmstead Dahlke. He died Mar. 19, 1977 and is buried in Memorial Gardens, Fort Dodge, IA.

Howard served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Obituary:

Howard Dahlke, 62, a former resident of Webster City, died Saturday at Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bruce’s Funeral home with burial in Memorial Gardens at Fort Dodge.

Howard L. Dahlke, was born Dec. 2, 1914 and was reared on a farm northwest of Webster City. He was graduated from Webster City High school, and later operated Dahlke Texaco gas station on Kenyon Road for almost 25 years. Since the time of its closing he had been working at Trinity Regional hospital in the maintenance department.

Surviving are two brothers, David Dahlke of Carson City, Nev. and Douglas Dahlke, U.S. Navy, stationed in Hawaii; one sister, Mrs. Ray Johnston, Fort Dodge and two grandsons.

He was a member of the VFW, the Amvets and the American Legion.

Mr. Dahlke served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
