John Wallace Currie was born Aug. 22, 1915 to John and Nellie Shannon Smith Currie. He died Aug. 16, 1943 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City, IA.
Lt. Currie served in World War II with the U.S. Army 133rd Infantry, 34th Division and served in the African campaign where he gave his life in the service of his country.
