CRIM

Vincel A. Crim, 56, Stratford, died April 9, 1983 at Mary Greeley Hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1926 in Stratford, the son of Edgar and Opal (Westrum) Crim. He married Saramae (Sally) Baker Aug. 6, 1950 in Des Moines.

Crim, a 1944 graduate of Stratford High School farmed near Stratford, and was a member of South Marion Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge Acorn Chapter 601. He had served on the board of directors of the Stratford Co-op Elevator and the Stratford School Board. He was presently a member of the Stratford Mutual Telephone Company.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife, Sally of Stratford; two sons, Andy of Midland, Texas and Daniel of Ames; two daughters, Mrs. Polly Rinehart of Boone and Mrs. Jody Klaver of Rockwell; his father, Edgar of Stratford; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Davis of San Diego, Calif. and his twin sister, Mrs. Virginia Duecker of Brookfield, Wis.; a brother, Alton of Webster City; eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Boone. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. The family will be at the chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

VINCEL CRIM, 56

Vincel A. Crim, 56, of rural Stratford, died Saturday evening April 9, 1983 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.

Services were held Tuesday April 12 at the First United Methodist Church in Boone with the Rev. Richard Russell officiating. Burial was in the South Marion Cemetery.

Mr. Crim was born in Stratford August 23, 1926, the son of Edgar and Opal Westrum Crim. He was married August 6, 1950, to Saramae "Sally" Baker at Des Moines, and he farmed near Stratford.

Survivors include his wife, of Stratford; two sons, Andy John of Midland, Texas and Daniel Edgar of Ames; two daughters, Pollyann Rinehart of Boone and Jody Kathleen Klaver of Rockwell; eight grandchildren; his father, Edgar Crim of Stratford; two sisters, including his twin, Virginia Duecker of Brookfield, Wisconsin, and Lois Davis of San Diego; one brother, Alton Crim of Webster City, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He was a member of the South Marion Methodist Church and served on the board of directors of the Stratford coop elevator and the Stratford school board and was presently serving on the Stratford Mutual Telephone Company board of directors.
