Francis Joseph Courtney was born Jan. 15, 1924 to Harry James and Katherine Stella Carolan Courtney. He died Aug. 13, 1944 and is buried in Saint Bridgets Cemetery, Bluffton, IA.
Pvt. Courtney served in World War II with the U.S. Army 331st Infantry Regiment, 83rd Division and was KIA in France.
