Pvt. Moses Izatus Christenson

 

 

 

Moses Izatus ‘Mose’ Christenson was born Mar. 14, 1903 to Morris Thomas and Mary E. Slawson Christenson. He died July 6, 1959 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Pvt. Christenson served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the Hq. Co. 125th Armored Engineering Battalion.

Christenson Service Friday

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster funeral home for Mose Christenson, 56, longtime Webster City resident, who died Monday night at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines.

He had been a patient at the hospital the past week, he had been in failing health the past two years.

The Rev. Faye Meather of Renville, Minn., will officiate and burial will be made in Graceland cemetery.

Mose Izatus Christenson, son of Morris and Mary Christenson, was born March 14, 1903, at Lehigh. At the age of 6, he moved with his parents to Webster City, his home since. He was reared and educated in this community.

He was employed by the Chicago and North Western railroad for several years, later being employed at Nissen Packing company. For the past 20 years he had been employed at the city light plant.

He is survived by his parents; four brothers and four sisters; Johnny Christenson of Webster City; Dorance Christenson of Brainerd, Minn., Raymond Christenson and James Christenson, both of Webster City; Mrs. Frank (Helen) Dayton of Fort Dodge; Mrs. Loy (Jeanette) Keck of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Bert (Mable) Jondal of Webster City and Mrs. Glen (Bernice) Short of Brainers; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Christianson was a member of the American Legion.
