Lester A. Christenson was born Jan. 14, 1916 to Alfred and Blanche Wentzel Christenson. He died in 1963 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell, IA.

Private Christenson served with the U.S. Army in World War II with Co. A, 69th Engineer Training Battalion.

Services Friday For Christenson

JEWELL—Lester Alfred Christenson, 47, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday in the Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient since Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Becker Funeral home and burial will be made in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Christenson was born Jan. 14, 1916, near Jewell. He lived in Hastings, Neb., from 1942 to 1951, in Webster City from 1951 until 1957 when the family moved to Storm Lake, returning to Webster City in 1962.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice, one son, Richard, of Webster City, and a grandson, Randy Christenson, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Christenson, and a brother, Leo, of Jewell. He was preceded in death by two sons, Harold, in 1943, and Lester, Jr. in 1959.

Mr. Christenson was engaged in maintenance work for 25 years. He is a veteran of World War II, was a member of the American Legion in Storm Lake and of the Loyal Order of Moose. Military rites will be conducted at the grave side.
