Oliver Willis Chapman, Jr. was born Aug. 30, 1924 to Oliver W. (Sr.) and Madelyne R. Chapman. He died Feb. 10, 1945 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove, IA.
Pvt. Chapman served with the U.S. Army, Co. F, 9th Infantry, 2nd Infantry Division in World War II. He was killed in action in Germany and posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal.
