Robert Jerome Cavanaugh was born Sept. 30, 1916 to J. H. and Eva L. Klinkner Cavanaugh. He died Apr. 1, 1944 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.
Sgt. Cavanaugh served in World War II with the U.S. Army 337th Infantry Regiment, 85th Infantry Division and was KIA in Italy and awarded the Purple Heart.
