IN UNIFORM.
Sgt. William J. Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Carter, 3716 Orleans avenue, recently was awarded the air medal and oak leaf cluster for meritorious action in the European theater. Sgt. Carter is serving with the Eighth air force and has been overseas since last December 17.
