Dick D. Carpenter was born about 1918 to Noel G. and Daisy D. Martin Carpenter. He died Feb. 28, 1945 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Sgt. Carpenter served in World War II with the U.S. Army 7th Infantry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division and died in the service of his country and was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
