2 WEBSTER CITY SOLDIERS HURT IN WAR ACTION
News of two more Webster City war casualties has been received here by H. G. Caquelin and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Keast.
Pfc. Donald M. Caquelin, Mr. Caquelin’s son, was slightly wounded Nov. 23, in Germany, marking the second time that the Webster City soldier had been injured in battle since D-Day.
Private Caquelin previously had received the purple heart for wounds suffered June 15 in Normandy. He recently wrote home that he had been awarded the bronze star and had already received the ribbon and citation although the medal itself had not yet been presented to him.
The Webster City infantryman is attached to the first army and entered France June 6, with the invasion forces.

Donald Max Caquelin was born Mar. 8, 1924 to Henry G. and Cecile M. Saddler Caquelin. He died Aug. 4, 2001 and is buried in the French Cemetery, Woolstock, IA.
