Newell Lewis Cadwell was born Oct. 9, 1913 to Charles Francis and Jessie Irene Busby Cadwell. He died Jan. 11, 1943 and is buried in Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames, IA.
Pvt. Cadwell served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radio operator aboard B-25C Mitchell #41-13247 and was one of six airmen who were killed when the twin-engine bomber failed to recover from a spin and crashed near the community of Falcon, Colorado, near Peterson Field.
