James Merrill “Jimmy” Butler was born Feb. 20, 1920. He died Feb. 12, 1945 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France.
Pvt. Butler served in World War II with the U.S. Army 882nd Field Artillery Battalion, 70th Infantry Division and was KIA in France. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
