Richard Hartford Burr, Jr. was born May 2, 1919 to William Hartford (Sr.) and Hazel Windust Burr. He died Dec. 15, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Lt. Burr served in World War II with the U.S. Army 21st Engineer Battalion, 21st Philippine Division and died in the service of his country in Subic Bay, Philippine Islands and was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
