Harvey Harry Boeck was born Mar. 9, 1919 to Harry William and Hertha Christine Kolls Boeck. He died Feb. 24, 1976 and is buried in Nishnabotna Cemetery, Manilla, IA.
Sgt. Boeck served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Philippines where he was reported MIA and was held a POW of the Japanese for 3-1/2 years. He was awarded the Good Conduct, Sharpshooter and 4 Battle Stars, the Purple Heart and Asiatic Combat Ribbon.
