Corp. Joe Billicks, son of Mrs. Katherine Corcoran, spent Mother's day at his home. He is stationed at Camp Dodge.

Joseph Charles Billick was born Sept. 19, 1914 to William Arthur and Margaret O’Rourke Billick. He died May 18, 1951 and is memorialized at the National Korean War Veterans Memorial, Washington, D.C and the Courts of the Missing, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Sgt. Billick served with the U.S. Army 330th Harbor Craft Company in World War II. He also served in Korea with Company B, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and was MIA while fighting the enemy in South Korea. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
