William Bierma, who left with the last group of inductees is now stationed at Camp Grant, Ill.  He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bierma of Sioux Center.  His address is: Pvt. William Bierma, 4th Battalion, U.S. Army, Co. "D", 31st Medical Training Battalion, Camp Grant, Ill.

Bill Bierma Transferred To Maryland
Pvt. Bill Bierma, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bierma of Sioux Center was transferred last week from Camp Grant, Ill. to Port Meade, Maryland with the U.S. Army.  His new address is: Pvt William Bierma 37419381, 59th General Hospital, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

Pvt. B. Bierma Drives Army Truck
Pvt. Bill Bierma, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bierma of Sioux Center, now has an army permit to drive one of the largest trucks used by the U.S. army, a 4 wheel drive.  Pvt. Bierma says that there is plenty to think about when you get behind the wheel of one of those trucks.  He gets the Sioux Center News right along.  It is interesting to note that about two-thirds of the men in his company are married, which has been reported by other local soldiers.  His address is: Pvt. Pvt. William Bierma, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bierma is home on a nine day furlough from Ft. George F. Meade, Maryland.  Bill is in the General Hospital there.  He has been in the army almost a year and this is his second furlough.  He wishes to thank the Civic Club and the American Legion for their letters of encouragement and advice, and says he enjoys the News a lot.  He expects to be sent overseas in the not too distant future.

PVT. William B. Bierma, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bierma, who was just home on furlough last week, has left the states for overseas duty.  His family here were surprised to get his new overseas address just this week.  Be sure to call for his complete address before sending further mail to him.  He has been in the service since June 15th, 1942.
