Cpl. Glenn Howard Beyer

 

Glenn Howard Beyer was born Nov. 5, 1919 to Gerrit Jacob and Mae Johanna Pas Beyer. He died Oct. 24, 1944 and has a cenotaph in West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City, IA and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines,

Cpl. Beyer served in World War II with the U.S. Army 60th Coast Artillery Regiment and was declared MIA in the South China Sea. He became a POW and was aboard a Japanese ship which was sunk while transporting prisoners northward from the Philippine Islands.
