Wyatt Dean Bassett was born Feb. 27, 1918 to Roy Burt and Avis Mae McKnight Bassett. He died Feb. 22, 1944 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.
Sgt. Bassett served in World War II with the U.S. Army 10th Engineer Combat Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division and was KIA and was awarded the Purple Heart.
