Lt. W. J. Burt, jr., Is Safe in Italy
Second Lt. Wallace J. Burt, jr., previously reported missing in action Feb. 19, over Hungary, has returned safely to his base in Italy, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Burt, sr., 3703 Grand ave.
Lieutenant Burt has completed his tour of 50 missions as a bombardier on Liberator in Italy. He has been in the army air forces mor than two years and overseas since last August.
He holds the Purple Heart for wounds received in action last September, and has the Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters.
