Hornick, Hospers, Soldiers Promoted in Pacific Theater
With the Americal Infantry Division somewhere in the South-west Pacific—Pvt. David R. Hamlett, Jerome, Iowa, has been awarded the combat infantryman badge for commendable performance against the Japanese, it was announced Wednesday.
The promotion of two other Iowans in the division was announced as follows: Clarence A. McCune, Hornick from private first class to sergeant and Clifford E. Brink, Hospers, from private first class to corporal.
