John Douglas Bridges was born July 12, 1916 to Homer and Nellie Patterson Bridges. He died July 21, 1986 and is buried in the Garden of Honor, IOOF Memory Gardens Cemetery, Livermore, CA.
Petty Officer Bridges served in World War II with the U.S. Navy Harbor Defense Units, Manila Bay, Philippine Islands and became a POW—survivor of Bataan and Corregidor.
