George McCullough Bray was born June 9, 1922 to Thomas J. and Elizabeth McCullough Bray. He died Oct. 13, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands and in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell, IA.
Flight Officer Bray served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 743rd Bomber Squadron, 455th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Bombardier/Navigator and was KIA in Poland and awarded the Purple Heart.
