Mother and Son Enlist Together

Mrs. DeLeah Scott of Charles City is in the army now, but her son, Norman, must wait until his eighteenth birthday in January to be called up.

Mrs. Scott enlisted in the women's army corps the same day Norman signed up for the enlisted reserve corps.
Both had been employed at the Oliver Farm Equipment Co in Charles City, Mrs. Scott as an inspector and Norman as draftsman.

Mrs. Scott said she joined the WAC because her family is grown and she felt she should do her share, because the army needed so many women.

Mrs. Scott has a daughter, Colleen, 20, employed in Charles City and a brother, Tech. Sergt. Thomas Boyd, also of Charles City, with the armored infantry in France.
