Melvin Charles Bitker was born Aug. 11, 1916 to Charles F. and Freda C. Thompson Bitker. He died June 11, 1943 and is buried in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, IA.
Pvt. Bitker served in World War II with the U.S. Army 34th Div. Co. A, 168th Infantry and was wounded in action in Africa and died in Halloran Hospital in New York City.
