Eldon Franklin Berschel was born Mar. 10, 1917 to Hugo and Edna Berschel. He died Nov. 27, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Sgt. Berschel served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps, 70th Squadron, 433rd Troop Carrier Group and was MIA/KIA/FOD. He was a crew member aboard a C-47 (Skytrain) which failed to arrive at its destination while on a mission from Leyte Island, Philippines to Anguar Island in the Palau Islands Group.
