Bill Barrett of Hinton recently received word from his son, Pfc. Duane (Buzzy) Barrett, that he is in a hospital somewhere in the South Pacific.

DeWayne Laverne “Buzzy” Barrett was born Jan. 4, 1921 to William and Minnie B. O’Neal Barrett. He died Sept. 17, 1991 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA. Pvt. Barrett served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.
