Isaac William “Ike” Ankeny was born Jan. 23, 1904 to Joseph Willis and Florence Marie Graves Ankeny. He died July 23, 1972 and is buried in Villisca Cemetery, Villisca, IA.
Chief Petty Officer Ankeny served in World War II with the U.S. Navy 36th Seabees, participating in action in the Solomons, Fiji Islands, Marshall Islands, New Hebrides, Okinawa and Bougainville.
